Top Culinary Tools Recommended by a Chef

This lesson covers all of my favorite kitchenware that I personally use to optimally and conveniently prepare nutrient dense foods and herbs into delicious healthy recipes. Each piece of equipment is made with food safe materials, comes from reputable companies, stands out among similar items.

My Favorite Culinary Equipment

3:1 Slow Cooker, Rice Maker, and Yogurt Maker

I use this tool to make rice, soups, stews, and even has a low temp setting for making yogurt. I love to make grass-fed A2 dairy yogurt and organic cashew or coconut yogurt. The cooker is made from clay so that it doesn’t leach potentially harmful compounds into your meals.

Simply plug in the device to an outlet, choose your setting, and then let it do it’s thing! No need to frequently monitor like you would need to do in a regular pot.

3:1 Personal Blender, Large Blender, and Food Processor

I use this tool to make smoothies, soups, nut/seed pâtés, sauces, and dressings. It comes with a two personal sized blending cups (24 and 32 ounce), a large blending pitcher (64 ounces), and a 7 cup food processor.

It also has a 1,500 watt motor to make the smoothest smoothies you have ever had! The mouth sensation is unlike any other blender I have ever used, almost creamy.

Nut, Seed, and Grain Milk Maker

I use this tool to make inexpensive homemade milks which avoids the artificial vitamins, questionable additives, and wasted packaging involved with store bought milks.

My favorite aspect of this device over others is that is has two modes: a cold mode mode for raw milks (nuts and seeds) and a warm mode for grain milks (oats and rice). It can also even make smoothies and soups. Use my code nutrientdenserecipes for $15 off!

Food and Herb Dehydrator

I use this tool to make dried fruit, dried herbs, and fish jerky such as salmon jerky. Because it operates at low heat levels (use can adjust between 95 to 160 degrees), it preserves heat sensitive nutrients and enzymes.

The particular version I have is a 4-tray system but there are other options with more trays if you are preserving food for a large family. It also comes with a great guide to help you get started.

Terracotta Seed Sprouter

I use this tool to create fresh, affordable, nutrient dense sprouts from organic seeds such as sunflower, broccoli, mung bean, alfalfa, radish, fenugreek, pea, lentil, and others.

It is made from food-safe terracotta clay, has 4 layers to put in seeds, and has a great stacking system that creates a dark and damp environment for optimal and clean sprout growth.

All Glass and Metal Tea Press

I use this tool to make herbal hot water infusions (you can also use it to make coffee though I prefer the espresso maker shown below). It has a maximum capacity of 20 ounces so that you can make several servings at once.

I love the copper exterior accents, full glass body, and stainless steel strainer. It also has no plastic, which can leach harmful compounds when heated. To use simply add your herbs to the bottom of the unit, add hot water, steep for the desired amount of time, and then serve.

Reverse Osmosis Water System with Minerals

I use this tool to create healthy drinking water at home. It easily installs under your sink and it comes with a dedicated spout to deliver filtered, low TDS (total dissolved solids) water. I then add in a small amount of liquid minerals with each serving to mimic spring water.

The main things I like about this system over others are it has an 8-stage filtration that effectively reduces fluoride, chlorine, chromium, heavy metals, pfas, iron, radium nitrate, calcium, and other harmful compounds, the spout lights up when it is time to replace of the fitlers and you simply pull out the old one and insert the new one, and it t has a tankless design so there is no standing water.

Espresso Maker and Hot Water Dispenser

I use this tool to make a concentrated coffee extract. If you enjoy coffee, there may be no better device than this.

My favorite thing about it is that it grinds, doses, and extracts all in one. This allows you to make fresh espresso (pre-ground beans are less nutrient dense) and set the amount of caffeine that is extracted to suit your personal needs. It also has a mode to dispense hot water for use in herbal teas.

Glass Storage Jars With Tight Lids

Storing foods and herbs in glass jars with tight lids prolongs their freshness by preventing oxygen from entering and breaking down nutrients. Additionally, glass jars are recyclable and do not contain harmful plastic byproducts that can leach into your ingredients.

The site below has multiple sizes based on your needs.
